THE UPWARD SPIRAL
Skywards
Spiral stairs on the sky bridges at Houston Center, downtown. Glass towers, a white helix between them. The photographs stay on the turn of the stair and the grid behind it.

The complex used to read as a closed podium. The stairs and bridges cut through that mass. They are connectors first. From the camera they are a single geometric subject.

- Houston Center holds more than four million square feet of office and retail.
- Sky bridges tie the towers and carry the stairs.
- Later renovations opened the podium and put pedestrians on those links.
